Can you hear the squeaky, rusty hinges on the door of this blog? It's been so long since I've done ANYTHING digiscrappy! I miss it! I really burned myself out with designing, trying to do it full-time and manage a full-time young family too. I wasn't ready. I'm still not.

However.... if anyone is still out there, still checking this dusty old tumbleweed of a blog... you might be interested in this.

You see, to make a long story short, my sister has cancer. She is undergoing a bone marrow/stem-cell transplant as we speak, and I am helping to organize an auction for her and her small family, to help cover the expenses of being away from their home for a few months while she recovers. The auctions run once a week, and until now my main contribution to them has been crocheted items (my new obsession, hee).

Then this week rolled around, and I had nothing planned -- until I chanced to light my eye upon my Digiscrap folder. Lightbulb!

Anyone want to buy my store? :) I haven't sold any kits in a year and a half, I haven't seen the light of day in the digiscrap world in nearly all that time, but they are all still the same as ever, just as good! This week's auction has a Buy-My-Store for Kimi's Kreations, starting at only $25. For all of my kits, templates, add-ons, alphas, glitters, and all, this is quite a steal! Of course, for Colleen's sake I am hoping the price will go a little higher than that. ;)

I've been putting off this moment for as long as I could. The time has come for me to retire from digiscrap designing, at least for the time being. I hope to come back to it someday, as this is a dream come true for me, but sometimes dreams have to wait until you have time. I've got little ones who need more time than I've had lately.

So this is goodbye for now. But not forever, I hope! :) You'll probably see me around here, popping into challenges now and then -- I can't stay away from scrapping!

But there's good news too! My entire store (excluding collabs) will be 50% off until it closes indefinitely on November 30th. Even if I do come back someday, there's no guarantee you'll ever see these kits again! So if you've been hemming and hawing about any of my kits, now's the time! :)

Made from a layout I'm making for the annual year-end photobook. This is my little one's birthday layout! Gosh, I am terrible about blogging lately! So much is happening all at once, everything's just crazy!! I'm hosting a Progressive Challenge at GDS twice a month, and that takes up a lot of my online energy -- most of my "extras" go toward participation prizes, so I don't have a ton of blog freebies left. But you get one today, never fear!

Sheesh, where do I start? Okay, well. Designers suddenly got a lot more freedom in managing our shops at GDS, so I was able to spam my own store with things I hadn't added yet. ^_^ All of my template packs are back!! This includes one new one, Pack 5, as well as the elusive Pack 4 that was only at MLAS for a little while. New Release, BIG NEWS, and a BLOG PARTY!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!

Guess what?? ..No, you don't have to guess, I'll tell you! I am opening a NEW store over at goDigitalScrapbooking.com! And why, you ask? That's the second piece of big news!! (Edited to add: My store at GDS is still empty, but please check back later! I understand new things will be added throughout the day.)

Since I began scrapping, I've been scrapping, designing, and bouncing ideas around with Val, aka geniaBeana. When we opened stores (around the same time), we joined each others' CTs. But we weren't able to get in at the same store at that point. Recently the opportunity presented itself to join GDS, and hence to be able to collab together in the same store, and we jumped at the chance! This week both of us are opening at GDS, and everything in both stores is 35% off! That includes this marvelous new kit, created purely for the celebration, Girls' Night Out!

Hey bloggers!!

It's been a long time since I stretched my blogging fingers. :P I have been SO busy, though! This next month is going to be awesome, starting next Tuesday. I have some HUGE news to share with you... but not yet. ;) Stay tuned! This is a fun little circley template that reminds me of the 70's Flower Power era. *lol* This template comes in three sizes - square 12x12", portrait 8.5x11", and landscape 11x8.5". Whew. It's been quite a day. I was supposed to have a shiny new template pack in store for you today, but what with various new processes at MLAS, it's not available yet. Has to go through QC. Sooooo instead I'm going to give y'all the freebie I was going to use to announce the template pack, as I have no idea when said template pack will be released.

This is a 12x12" "drop in" quick page created by me, Kimi, with my soon-to-be-released kit, "My Darling." It's a lovely, girly little kit that has bits of elegance and whimsy in a nice soft mix of pinks, blues, creams and browns. This quickpage uses mostly the pinks. It also uses one of the templates that will be available in Template Pack 04, so keep an eye out for that! ;)

Little Man is a cute kit perfect for your rough-and-tumble little guys. Hey everyone! 've been totally MIA lately, huh? Designing always takes so much more time than I expect! But the good news is, I have a new kit all packaged up and ready to go. It's got to go through QC still, but I'll let you know when it's in the shop.

I'm told that some of the files in my shop are down at the moment while I undergo a quality check at MLAS. I can still see them, but in case they're not working for anyone, that's why.

I figured out something new! I just learned the quick way to make PNG files out of my template layers! Hurray!! From this point on, I will be including the layers as PNG files in my templates, for NON-Photoshop users! I'm in the process of updating all of my old templates (yep, even all the old freebies), but it may take a while. I'll add a note to each of my templates when it's been updated.
Update 6/12/09: All of my previous freebie templates have now been updated! :)

Also, this may be obvious, but I am not able to release Lemonberry Fizz today :( The quality check was not difficult, but I did have to update some elements and completely redraw the glitter swirls for Beautiful Blues, so I didn't have time to finish all of my elements last night. I'm still hoping to have it out by Saturday at the latest. Thanks for your patience!

Ready For Sun has been revamped! The flowers are a little cleaner and crisper now, and I've added several new elements. I also completely redid the glitter pack to match the quality of my newest ones (seamless, nice and chunky, with 12x12 PNG files).

Beautiful Blues is pretty much the same as it was before, except that the glitter pack now comes in PNG format for better quality. So if you downloaded it while it was still a freebie, no worries. ;)

So it's official! I now have a shop!! I'll be selling my designs at My Life and Scrap as of Thursday, May 28th (two days from now). For those of you who follow this blog and might be concerned about what's going to happen to my freebies, here's a rundown:
-I won't be releasing large kits on the blog any more. For the color challenges, I will still give away the minikits as freebies, but the addon/expansions that I do will go up in the shop instead.
-I WILL still have freebies. For every kit I put up in the shop, I will do an add-on or a sampler to put here on the blog for you.
-I am removing links to the kits I'm putting up in the shop, such as Ready For Sun and Beautiful Blues.
-The templates aren't going anywhere! All of the ones I've released so far will still be here on the blog. In the future, I'll make a coordinating template pack to put in the shop, and one template freebie to go with it here on the blog.

So the freebies will still be around. The difference is that I'll be doing some selling, too. :D Grand opening is in two days, folks! I'll keep you posted and pop up a link here once there's something for you to see!

Sorry I've been MIA lately! First I got all caught up in my new CT, then all of the sudden, everyone in my family got sick, all in a row. First my husband, then both boys, then, after fighting it off ALL month as we have batted it around the house, I finally succumbed and spent Thursday totally out of commission. I got back on the computer to find that I'd been accepted to another CT! I am now a proud member of Madame Wing's creative team! Very exciting. ^_^

And speaking of CT's, did you know that Christie Lemmon and Steel City Scraps both opened their new shiny shops at Inspiration Lane today? No? Go see, go see! There are new pretty kits to look at! HERE is Christie's shop, and HERE is Rachel's!

I do have a couple of layouts to show you from both of my CTs, but I am still exhausted and recovering from this crazy week, so that will have to come later. Just wanted to let you all know I'm still alive!

Well, okay, it's been official for a couple of days now, but I wasn't sure if I needed to wait for an announcement or something. But Rachel says it's okay for me to post, soooooo....

I'm on the Creative Team for Steel City Scraps and Christie Lemmon Designs! I'm a LemmonCity girl! *happydance* I'm so so super excited!! The best part is, since I've been a fan for a while, I already have some older layouts I can use for my CT requirements.

A Quiet Week

Sorry to drop a kit on you and then go MIA! I've been busy working on a few other hobbies and haven't had much time for scrapping! I have also been working on this month's Color Challenge over at BAM, and it's going to be adorable! ;) I'm so excited for the end of the month to come so I can show you! This blog train will be the best yet.

I do have something exciting to announce, but I'm not sure if it's safe to say so just yet. I'll keep you posted on that one. ;)

So, I had a little extra scrapping time on my hands today, and apparently got a bug in my head. Still on the high from my Digital Candy sugarbinge this last weekend, I was browsing their challenges and found this month's color challenge. It was to simply pick a color you like and make a minikit entirely based around that color.

Now, I don't know how well I did. I am still a pretty new designer. And I did use a bit of CU stuff. BUT, I think it turned out pretty well. At any rate, there are tons of sparkles, and you can't go wrong with those. :D

Hey everybody! Hope you scrappy ladies (and gents?) had a wonderful National Scrapbooking Day/Weekend! This template is based on my "Kimi" layout (the one with the shoes). Please note that since I used this for blocking apart ONE picture, the squares are NOT separated into layers as they were in Template 35. Instead, there is the simple direction to click one layer and paste, and it will automatically group your photo in so that it is masked this way. Feel free to e-mail me (addy in the TOU) if you have questions about how you can layer in some papers in those rectangles. Anyway, I hope it's not too complicated! Have fun with it and I'd love to see what you do with it!

Spring Flowers Alpha and Glitter Pack

I originally intended to release these yesterday, with the add-on, but I went to post and took a second look at my alpha. Without going into too much detail, I decided it needed an overhaul, and I think it is MUCH better this time (and completely and totally different from how it was before). I hope you like it. :) I also had to update the TOU for the glitter, since I decided to make this my first CU freebie! Woohoo!

This alpha is mostly made of the "Missed Your Exit" font, but it did not include an asterisk or curly brackets, so those are swiped from other Kevin & Amanda fonts. The alpha should match my "Spring Flowers" mini and add-on perfectly. :)

BAM Color Challenge #2 Glitters!
I'm excited about these, can you tell? :) I figured out how to make seamless glitter textures in Photoshop, and made you seamless layer styles (in .asl format) for PS/PSE users, AND 12x12 glitter sheets for those of you in other programs. They are CU-friendly -- this means it is perfectly okay to use my glitter to make your own elements, with or without giving me credit (though it is appreciated!), but DO NOT redistribute the original .asl file or the original glitter sheets! Thanks!

A few pretties~

First of all, we had a speed scrap today at BabyAndMe forums (which you frequently hear me refer to as BAM). We were to use white as a background color, and a lot of journaling, and try to use just one color other than neutrals. I used two, but she said at one point that green could count as a neutral, so I guess I'm safe. *lol* Anyway, here's my page:

So, I actually have done quite a bit more than just this one layout in the past couple of days, but I can't post most of it. I have some free photobook credits at Artscow, so I made a lovely little photobook for my sister of her seven darling children. Since they're not my kids I probably shouldn't post them publicly. ;) BUT, one of the layouts used quite a few pictures, and became Template 35!

Additionally, another mommy on the forum asked about my "alpha" used in this layout, and I had whipped up a real alpha for her before I noticed that she asked if I could make it in pink. *lol* So you get THREE freebies today -- two "My Own Topher" alphas and a template!

Template 35
This template is a doozy! It's a very versatile two-page, 50-square template, just a little wonky. You can fill all the squares with pictures, or just a few smatterings of pictures among squares of pretty papers. You can turn a few squares off for a "window" to your lovely elements or title work. In the preview, I have turned off a few of the squares layers, but they are all included in the PSD for your toggling pleasure. ;)

Has it really been a week?

This past week has absolutely flown by. I'm not sure why. I went through a major scrapping spree early-on, working on the next BAM Color Challenge. Then, I think about mid-week, I found one of my templates on someone else's blog, hacked into a two-pager and claimed as an original. Thanks to Angie (IkeaGoddess), the blog was deleted for copyright violation. In case it's not clear, it is so not okay to take mine or anyone else's templates and/or graphics and claim them as your own. *sigh* Anyway, I got into kind of a funk after that and it took a few days to recover.

But I did! :) Here's one I did for the Altered Candy Challenge at Digital Candy. My alterations were the burnt edges on the cream-colored paper, sanded edges on the flowered paper, and a subtler change -- I flipped the orientation of the silver part of the clip.

Collaborative recipe challenge LO and Template 33

For those of you just making your way to my blog, be sure to check this week's post -- I've been template happy and there are a lot of freebies there now. ;)

This was done for BAM's first collaborative recipe challenge. Basically, a random 6 participants each picked a step, one each day for a week, and then we had an extra week to finish. The steps were:
1. Pick 1-3 photos. Make one of these photos the main focus of your page, in whatever way you choose.
2. Choose a color from your photos (one they all have in common) and pick one paper and one element (any element) that is that color or has that color in it.
3. Add something that is a circular shape, a square shape, and a triangle shape. It could be your pictures, an element, papers - your choice!
4. Add three staples, and a string. Put the string under an element.
5. Use an alpha to make one word in your title pop out from the rest. You can use another alpha for the rest, but one word should be totally different and really pop!
6. Add a doodle, copy it somewhere else, you can shrink it or stretch the copy if you need to.

The circle is the string, the square is the papers (okay it's a rectangle, whatever), the star's points are triangle shaped. :D I'm pretty sure everything else is included/obvious.

Speed scrap LO and Template 32!

Yep, another Speed Scrap! :) Tonight's steps included three pictures, certain instructions for clustering, and required use of a bracket and wordart. I should note that I got the idea for my wordart from one I saw online somewhere, but didn't download. I thought it was particularly appropriate to the pictures. We are always warning Richie that someday Andrew will be bigger than he is (most likely, since he was 4 lbs bigger at birth) and he needs to be nicer to him. *lol* Here's my interpretation:

I participated in this week's Grand Theft LO at ScrapMatters. I love how the page turned out, and I learned/played with some new shadowing techniques. I had no idea you could make your drop shadow into a new layer and mess with it! If I wanted a wonkier shadow, I usually would duplicate the layer, fill it with black, mess with the edges....etc. Took a lot longer! Anyway, here is my LO:

I've been busy! I have three templates all ready to go for your enjoyment... they'll be released one day at a time, though. ;)

Let's see, where did I leave off? Ah yes. My layout a few posts down, "Banana Boy," won the speed scrap at BAM, so I got to host the next one. My rules were simple; no title, and basically create a clustered set of pics with lots of white space. I left it pretty open-ended. This is what I came up with:

CU Glitter anyone?

Hey guys, I have a proposal for you.

I recently figured out how to make SEAMLESS glitter textures, so I can fill an entire 12x12 paper with glitter, no funky lines. It's awesome, and it has way increased the quality of my glitters. Anyway, thus far my glitters (the few I've put up on this blog) have been personal-use freebies. I will continue to do those when I make kits, but I was wondering if there's anyone out there who would like a custom glitter set, from your own color palette, for COMMERCIAL USE, for a small donation. You could use it any way you like (except to redistribute the exact files I give you and claim them as your own) -- you could make your own kits for freebies or to sell, make your own pretty glitzy alphas, or anything you want.

The downside of this plan is that I am not affiliated with any shops, so you would have to trust me and take my word for it (and Paypal's) that I'm an honest person who will do what I say I will. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to hook up with a shop, but for now this is all I can do.

Let me know what you think. Here's my proposal:
-You make a $3 donation to my Paypal account.
-You e-mail me a color palette, up to 5 colors (or buy an additional 5 colors for $2 extra).
-I give you an estimate of the amount of time it will take (most likely 24-28 hours, unless crazy things are happening)
-When I'm done, you get the following:
*12x12 SEAMLESS glitter papers matching each of the colors you sent me
*A custom set of layer-styles to use in Photoshop, applying the glitter texture to your images and/or text.
*Permission to use these files for making your own kits, as freebies or to sell.

This is just a "feeler" post; please comment here with some feedback for me if you'd like to see some custom CU glitter! :) How do you feel about this proposal?

Speed scrap and Template 28

Yay, we had another speed scrap tonight! It was a lot of fun. I got to use a pic of Andrew that I just took today. I will probably make a 2pager with the rest of this photoshoot, though. He was being so stinkin' cute and totally playing to the camera.

I don't feel like hunting down the rules at the moment, but suffice it to say that if you wonder why I did something the way I did it (only one pic, elements clustered together, some layered between things, number of papers, etc) it's probably because it was in the rules. ;)

Thank you all so much for the wonderful comments you have been leaving on my Ready For Sun kit. You have no idea how much they help! Nice comments = motivation to keep designing! I cannot believe the elements file has gotten over 800 downloads! O_O It's mind-boggling. I only hope I can continue to live up to that standard! You all are wonderful, thank you so much. Oh and by the way, Kaelira (another participant in the BAM-CC1 blogtrain and a very good friend of mine) has posted her addon now, too! You can grab it at her blog -- and don't forget to leave her some love! ;)

These next templates are dedicated to sirmeyer and sdwrdt, who never fail to comment on a template. ^_^ Thanks guys ;) And really all of you who come every time and download, and especially comment. You all rock.

Templates 23 and 24
These templates are nearly identical; they started out as a two-pager, actually, but didn't look quite right together. Each has room for 5 photo-strips, or you can use the spaces for papers and really focus on one or two pictures. They're kind of a photo-strip-story type deal. Very simple and clean, two strips in the back for papers if you like that sort of thing. ;) As usual, they are in PSD format with a full-size PNG included for non-PS users (though I'm not positive I'm doing that right...) -- 12"x12" and 300dpi.

Another speed scrap and Template 22~

I'm still in recovery from last Friday's freebie spam! *lol* I hope you all are enjoying "Ready For Sun!" and making lovely pages that of COURSE you are going to show to me so I can squee at you! ;)

Anyway, tonight I got to host BAM's speed scrap! Here are the clues I came up with:
1. Choose three photos. Crop them so they are exactly the same size and shape (or as close as you can). You may use different pieces of the same photo if you wish (close-up on face, zoomed out view, etc, I'll count them as separate photos). You MAY rotate the shape. Be creative!
2. Choose exactly three papers, no more no less. One must have a visible print of some sort. One must be plain-textured. One must be either worn, folded, torn, or messed up in some way. You may use them as many times as you like, in any way you like.
3. Find an element that in some way mimics the shapes of your photos, and layer it behind each one. It can be as large or small as you like, and only needs to be visible enough that you can tell it's a similar shape. You may use your papers for this piece if you need to, but try to find premade elements. You MAY use 2-3 different colors of the same element.
4. Add exactly three ribbons, strings, or ricrac strands (long straight or curly ones, no bows unless they're part of a bigger piece).
5. Pick exactly three more elements and use them any way you like, as many times as you like.
6. Add a THREE WORD title, using at least two different fonts. You may use alphas, as long as they are different.
7. Journal and/or date if you wish, and three cheers, you're done!

LOTS of threes. And you know what's funny? I didn't realize until JUST NOW that a triangle has three sides and therefore follows that theme. *rofl* Here's my layout:

This has three little triangles for you to plunk your pictures into. There's plenty of white space for journaling or... just leaving white, lol, and STITCHES! Triangles can be funky, but you'd be surprised what pops out of your photos when you crop them into a new shape! Have fun with it!

Before I get started with the FREEBIE SPAM, I need to catch up on a couple of layouts:
This is my contribution as part of Kaelira's unofficial "CT" for her very first kit ever! Very colorful! You can still snag the kit, Emma's Toybox, and the template used for this page (#19) over at her blog, a few posts back.

This I made for BAM's first Recipe To Scrap. The requirements (taken from ScrapMatters' October rules) were:
1. Photo (as many as you want.)
2. Frame your photo, but don't use a frame
3. A Shape, any shape
4. Stitching
5. Doodles
6. 1 background paper
7. ribbon (at least 3)
8. word art
I love this photo, not for the high-def quality of it or the "perfect shot" but for the way the sunlight was just glowing off their faces and hair and how you can totally tell he adores the people he's with and that they love to be around him too. ^_^ This was an unusual moment for me, just one little picture. I'm sure I didn't do it justice, I'm no expert with the layering-around-a-photo thing. But I like it. :D

Then last night we had another speed scrap at BAM. The requirements for the speed scrap were:
1. Pick two pictures
2. Pick 4 papers, to use as you like
3. Use one picture in the background. Extraction, blending mode, as you like. Or play with the opacity.
4. Frame the other picture
5. You may use up to 8 different elements, not including word art or alphas.
6. Include something BLUE! (cuz this is me)
7. Journaling or title must include song lyrics
Ironically, the title of my page rhymes with the name of the kit I used. Subliminal messaging? *lol* I really like how it turned out. I don't mean to sound at all conceited, but it was so cool scrapping with a button I've actually held in my hand, and bows I tied and photographed and extracted, and stitches I took in a piece of plastic canvas. SO STINKIN FUN!

Time for a blog train!! This is BAM's first ever blogtrain, and we're all pretty new designers, so go easy on us ;) We weren't going to do this until tomorrow, but we just got so excited we couldn't wait!

Our first Color Challenge was to create a minikit with three papers, and three elements, using this palette created by geniaBeana:

We all came up with our own kit-theme and played around in our own styles. It's a short train but hopefully has some stuff you'll like! All aboard~

Fun With Glitter

So now for something completely random... I posted a while back that I got Art Rage, this lovely program that does gorgeous glitter that's just perfect for digiscrapping. I've been messing with it, and today, by request, I made a few pink glittery swirls and doodles for Sara's layout. I thought you might like to play with them. They don't really go with anything in particular, but they are a pretty shade of pink. :) They're very heartsy and girly, too.

Included in this pack: Two corner swirls, two flower doodles, four random swirls, and a 1000x1000-pixel glitter sheet to play with however you like. :) You can easily make a pattern from it to use as a layer style or whatever. Personal Use only, please!

I've found a way faster method of making alphas in Photoshop, so I'm working on getting yesterday's alpha sheets separated out. It's driving me nuts to have to open the whole sheets just to get one letter out to mix and match with! *lol* So be on the watch for that. I've got all the alphas chopped up and just need to apply my method to the number/punctuation sheets. And make a better preview, because I don't know what I was thinking but that one is UGLY. Brown and yellow? Really, was I sleeping? Anyway, here's your freebie for today~

New challenge LO and a pretty!

(LOL, this accidentally got posted blank, sorry if you came by while it was empty! I'm giggling over here.)

This week's weekly challenge at BAM was to use the kit "Sweet Springtime" by Summer Driggs. It was an 8x8 kit, however, so I didn't want to do a major page with it -- well, that and it's very girly, so I had to incorporate some of the girl cousins to keep my boys from being over-pinkified. *lol*

So I'm still working on my minikit for Color Challenge #1, and I keep getting distracted with new actions and fun fonts, and making alphas! They're just too fun. Well, this week's freebie at Atomic Cupcake is Cracked Paint, and it happens to look awesome with the papers I'm making. So I made 8, yes EIGHT alpha sets, one for each color, for mixing and matching over the color-challenge LOs. I used the font "Tan Patty" from kevinandamanda.com to make the alphas. They have not been separated out of their alpha sheets. The thought of separating out that many little files made my brain hurt, so I kept it simple. BUT if you're interested, here they are, all wrapped up together.

This is a counterpart to Template 18, with the same background scheme. It was going to be linear, too, but it wonkified itself. ;) There's room for 9 pictures (seriously, what IS it with me and that number??) -- be aware of the one in the middle as it will be split in half. You don't want to lose any important details! I would make that one scenery, or an off-centered photo, unless you know the secret to seamless 12x24 printing.

Speed scrap and Template 19

We've been speed-scrap-happy lately! There was another one over on the forum last night. So fun! The directions went something like this:
-6 words, no more, no less
-5 papers, use them any way you want, however many times you want
-4 elements, unique, one use each.
-3 fasteners, the same or different
-2 photos
-1 shamrock in honor of St Patty's Day, however obvious or subtle you want it to be.

Did you find my shamrock? ;) These photos are from a second honeymoon my hubby and I took several years ago -- before kids! This is Puget Sound as seen from a ferryboat. Pretty, huh?

This one uncharacteristically only has room for 3 pictures. But there's a fun pattern on the left for your papers. It's not woven together or anything, but you can always layer it a couple of times and play with shadows. ;) There's also a shape included for one line of journaling, around the top right corner. As usual I've included a PNG version, but having seen a PNG-format template, I'm not sure I'm doing that part right. *lol* Sorry for any of you who've needed that!

A new pretty and a new freebie~

I've been speed-scrappin! I participated in my second speed-scrap at BAM the other day. The guidelines:
1. Choose 1 background paper. Then choose 3 more papers that will be used in the background.
2. Your page must contain 4 photos. They can all be differnt, or some can be duplicated.
3. Choose 1 element, and use it 3 times on your page.
4. Choose 2 fasteners. Use them as much as you like.
5. Choose 2 more elements. You can use these ones as much as you like!
Add as much journaling, word art, and title as you like!

And we had to get creative as more and more people posted their layouts so we didn't copy anyone's idea. ;) Finally I hit on the idea for 8 months pregnant! This is my belly from when I was pregnant with my youngest. I love this belly, it was so big and round! It was like I swallowed a beach ball. One guy asked me if I had twins in there and was shocked when I said only ONE baby thank-you-very-much. It was also 1:30 am when I made this layout, so I was feeling like being snarky about it. *lol* (Oh and in case you're curious, this baby ended up weighing in at 10 lbs 1 oz at birth! LOL)

This one has a counterpart that will be released tomorrow or the next day, so if you see the same template twice they are actually different -- they just match each other. ;) Anyway, it's a clean and simple frameless template with room for 11 photos and a pretty kind of boxy thing behind it. Inspired by a wall at Jack in the Box, lol -- this is what happens when you sit too long at a fast-food place waiting for an oil change. I'd love to see this one with pics in it, so please let me know if you use it!

So my alpha is showing 0 downloads even after a test download and several comments implying downloads. Is it downloading correctly for you all? Are you able to open and use it? This happened to a friend of mine a few days ago. Has 4shared just stopped counting downloads for everyone? Or just a few people? Kinda sucks.

BAM Color Challenge #1

The mommy-forum I'm on (BabyAndMe forums) is having its first-ever Color Challenge. Genia Beana came up with a fun color palette, and we can either design a layout using those colors, or make a mini-kit with 3 papers, 3 elements, using the palette. I haven't finished with the kit yet, but I made an alpha today! I thought you might like to see it. :)

I had heard somewhere that making alpha sheets instead of individual images was "a HUGE space saver," so I decided to try making both options available. Uh, the sheets are almost the exact same filesize, and maybe a little bigger than the alpha that's cut up. Nevertheless, I realize that people have different preferences as to whether they like the alpha all together in sheets or split up separately, so I made you both! I'll compare the number of downloads each set gets to determine whether I continue this trend or not.

Miss me? Yeah, probably not ;) Unless Digifree or IkeaGoddess are sending people my way I'm sure this blog is pretty well stagnant. Anyway, the "break" has been good for me. I'll be back to designing in no time.

In digiscrap news, I found a copy of ArtRage 2 at Target for only $20! Woot, time to make me some GLITTER!! It's so fun to play with. I can't wait to make some elements with it. My upcoming kit will be very sparkly. ;) But that's okay, it goes with the theme.

Yes, I'm working on a kit. No, I'm not sure how it's going to turn out yet. :/ I had a request/suggestion from a friend that I thought would be fun, but I'm having a hard time getting specific inspiration for the elements. Perhaps it will be easier once I break out the overlays and make some papers.

Anyway, that's what's new with Kimi here. :) Hope to have at least an alpha or something fun for you this week.

This template was inspired by the recent template freebie by Genia Beana Scraps. It doesn't look much like hers, but I always think of her when I do strippy papers. ^_^ Let me know how you like it! This has room for 4 pictures, one round and three with nice rounded edges. The paper strips are grouped together so you can just put papers right in.

"Walking" Layout

Wow, Peaches & Cream has over a hundred downloads already!! Apparently y'all didn't like the alphas as much though. ;) It's funny to compare the numbers of the different pieces of the kit. Thank you to EVERYONE who left me a comment! You have no idea how those brighten up my day. You are all awesome!! Feel free to let me know what kind of kits/color schemes you'd like to see in the future ;)

This was my entry for a challenge on a digiscrapping LJ-group I joined. The challenge was simply to use Shabby Princess' new kit for all of the elements and papers. It was awesome! I took these pictures a few weeks ago and even had them plugged into my template for a "finished" example to put on my blog... and then brain-squished when I tried out different kits with it. This one, as soon as I plugged in the polka-dots I knew it was The One. I love how it turned out! The little labels, especially, were endearing to me (please note the "Me" and "You" and where he is looking -- awww!)

Peaches & Cream - My first kit!

My very first kit is all done!! I'm kind of nervous. I hope you like it! It's called Peaches & Cream.

I also made two alphas to go with it:

-2 full alphas (one small and elegant, one big & chunky)

-2 scalloped metal oval frames
-4 pieces of glittery bling (1 flower, 3 swirls)

-4 stamps (1 flower, 3 swirls)
-2 tags (with a separate twine loop to put through them)

All in all, that's 37 elements!! I hope you like them!

Funky Alpha

Just a quickie freebie for you today. Long story short: Some of the ladies on the mommy-forum I go to really liked the chunky alpha I made for my last layout. I e-mailed Juno to ask if I could make it a real alpha and distribute, but did not hear back from her yet (I'm not certain I used the right email address). At any rate, I decided to make a similar alpha, without using her paper, but using the same color scheme and style. So this is a Juno Pretty Funky inspired alpha. It will coordinate perfectly with her Pretty Funky kit from Sunshine Studios Mission 2 if you have it, but if you don't, I'm sure you can find a use for it anyway. ;)

This is a nice painted-wood-looking alpha using the font "Gill Sans Ultra Bold." Let me know what you think :)

A Day in the Life and Template 11

This is my entry for a challenge on the mommy-forum I go to. I love how it turned out! It's a two-pager, and in this case I think it looks best if you see it all together, so here's the whole spread first:

Journal text may be too small to read on the web, but it's big enough to be legible when printed. I also doodled on the pages a little bit. ^_^

Hey all~ I have a kit to show you today. It's called Love Letter, by Simply Susan Godfrey. I am behind the times -- this is a lovely Valentine's Day kit, and V-day is already over. But it was still fun! Here's the kit -- click the preview to go check it out in her shop!

So, I've been playing with this template but I'm too excited to make a full LO before I post it! It is just too much fun not to share. This is another template inspired by Simply Yin Designs, this time including wonky shadows like she does! They are easy to toggle off if you don't like them. Also, as you can see, it's a two-pager! Have fun with it! I would love to see your LO's if you use this template for them. :)

Scrappy Saturday

I've been having so much fun scrapping this week I'm pretty much neglecting everything else. Well, almost. I did manage to make a baby quilt this week for my son's first birthday. I can't believe my baby is one!! Gotta love those frosting-smeared cheeks though. I'll make a LO just for that, eventually.

My first two-pager! It loops around in a layout with 9 pictures (I seem to like that number!) and has a few butterfly elements you can either fill with papers of your choosing or delete. ;) My first CT layout a few posts back shows one way this template can be used. I've been so excited to release this one! You can layer in lots of different papers, or you can put a photo in the space in the heart, or do like I did and do one photo in the biggest puzzle piece. I've included stitches around the heart and a little puzzle-button template you can fill with your favorite paper or texture. If you use the Bevel and Emboss layer style judiciously, you can make it look just like a real button! :)

This is my very first layout as a member of the creative team for Simply Susan Godfrey! I used her kit, "Pocketful Of Posies," and a piece from another of her kits, "Love Letter." Here's the preview for the main kit I used (click the image to go check it out in her shop!):

And here's my LO! It's a two-page layout, using pictures from Richie's first Easter, at 10 months old. Not real Easter-y, but I love the pictures.

There. Now I can say I have a digiscrap blog. Kimi's (Scrap) Kreations is up and running! I've got personal scrapping to post, CT layouts for Simply Susan Godfrey, and the best part -- freebies! Not much in the kit department yet, although I'm working on that; but I have 5 or 6 templates all ready to go. I just have to work up a TOU and package them up for delivery. Oh, and register on Digifree. And 4Shared. Phew, there's a lot to do!

I can't wait to get started.
